IN YOUR OWN WORDS, DESCRIBE WHAT HAPPENED

Sitting on my back door step on the phone to my friend and see that strange light very low in the sky so I took a few photos zoomed in and my camera wouldnt focus in some pictures so i then put it on record and it came closer and as it was coming closer it got higher into the sky then the higher it got the quicker it got then just shot over the top of the house and that was all the footage i got and I hung up the phone to my friend and ran into the house to tell my boyfriend and he looked out the front window and it was gone and I showed him the video and he laughed and told me it was probably a helicopter then he watched it again and I showed him a few pics and he was kind of shocked as he didn't know what to say. There was no sound off this flying object just light going nearly flickering from yellow into red/orange.

Investigator Comments

I personally haven't received the footage yet, but I think another one of our members have. I will ask our team if they have received it. If not, I'll contact the witness and see if I can obtain this footage another way (she doesn't have it uploaded to YouTube) Due to the nature of the description, it sounds similar to that of a Chinese lantern. Flickering, the colours and the absence of sound with no obvious description of unusual flight paths or manoeuvres. If anyone else has seen something like this in Ballyclare around this time, please get in touch.

Hynek Classification:

Nocturnal Light
